Are you ready for this?
You’ve seen women play tennis, basketball and soccer. But now there’s another sport taking women by storm… see them getting crazy over roller derby.
The Victorian Roller Derby League (VRDL) is a non-profit organisation that has become widely known among roller derby fans. Since its inception in 2007, it is growing bigger with every game and the league is 100 per cent skater-owned and operated. It is a tough sport for women where they can express themselves with crazy make-up and colourful clothes. It doesn’t matter if you’re a senior, a teenager or have a family with children — it’s fun for everyone.
I was part of the crowd during the first bout for 2011, held at the Melbourne Showgrounds on 26 March. Listen to what some of the audience members had to say about their passion for the women getting rowdy on skates.

And here is a little video I put together with my friend Viktor! Cheers for that!
If you would like to be part of the second bout at the Melbourne Showgrounds on 7 May 2011, head to the league's homepage where you can check out the Victorian Roller Derby girls, upcoming games and ticket information.
